how can I id an older Toyota forklift? doesen't have a data plate, I was told it is a 77 year model, maybe an 02-fg-30?

Check the frame for a serial number stamping. Most Japanese forklift have them stamped in as in Japan forklift are registered. In '77 forklifts were only made in Japan.
