Raymond Walkie Pallet Truck - Lift Pump/Motor Issue

Hi,

I had a Raymond Walkie 112 Series Walkie (aka 6000/8000) have its lift motor fail on me last week.

I sent the motor out for a rebuild, it came back and I put it back together everything the way it was.

Now when I try to lift the forks, the motor makes a loud whirring noise as if the motor is free-wheeling, but the forks will NOT raise. It sounds like the motor is just spinning completely freely inside but no hydraulic activity seems to be present, as if the hydraulic fluid reservoir was empty or something, but it's got the perfect fluid level!

Any advice?

Thanks in advance,
jake

Hi guys, thanks for replys!

I was pretty sure that the rebuilder messed up and forgot a coupling inside that connects the motor to the pump...

I sent it back out today and it came back, so I think thats exactly what it was!

Thanks!

Well, not really alot on these trucks. Check the lowering switches, if they are stuck closed, the truck is trying to lower the same time. The pump itself could be shot. Or like the guy said check your cables. I have had a lower switch on the grab rail fail, causing this problem before. Let us know.

Have the cables on the motor been reversed so now it is spinning backwards? Is the lowering valve solenoid somehow energized so it it trying to raise and lower at the same time?
