Demounting foam filled tires

I am trying to demount foam filled tires that are too big in diameter to fit in my tire press. The rims are the traditional lock ring type. Assuming that I can get the lock ring off I assume that the foam in the tire is stuck on the rim. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Duo, worked with a tire dealer for a while. Using a sawzall is the same way we removed all the old foam fills. The foam will stick to the rim some but not to bad. Good luck.

Yeah, we figured out that the only way to get them off is to cut them off with a sawzall. It's pretty easy cutting through the tire but the steel bands are a big pain.

around here, foam filled that have gotten glued to the rim are usually cut into smaller pieces with a sawzall and what ever is left cleaned up with a pneumatic or electric chiseler,

IIRC foam filled tires have to be cut off the rim, they cannot be pressed off. I'll shoot you an email if i get some time to talk to my tire guy about how it's done.

assuming it is a tube type rim, i would suspect tube is foam filled and it is not glued to rim itself, regular solid pheumatic directions would apply, if its a bead seal type rim then seek industrial tire company

I would contact an industrial tire supplier. They have a special press with the proper tools to disasseble and install tires. It's worth the money for the time spent and frustration and SAFER.
