Discussion:
Is there a decent battery supplier out there?

I am looking for a good battery supplier. We currently use Enersys, more specifically General, and have for about 20 years. Their quality has gone way down. If we can get 6 years out of a battery in a medium duty application we are doing good. Most batteries we sell have had warranty issues which are NEVER covered by warranty unless somebody screams. In addition, the local service stinks. They have a flat rate zone fee of $185.00, even if they drive 1/4 mile from their shop. When they go on a service call that I have sent them to one of my customers they put their service decals all over the battery or charger.
We've tried other companies in the past but they don't seem to be any better.
Can anyone make a recommendation, please???

East Penn is the DEKA battery manufacturer. we use there products and the warranty rate is less than a %. the batteries are more money than other brand, but the cost of ownership is way less than other brands. the process that they go threw to build the battery insures complete plate formation. they form all the plate out of the battery case and inspect them. if the plate has completely formed they install it. if not they recycle it. i visited the factory and it is state of the art. well worth the money my rep is tom Galvani and he can get you taken care of here is his # 1-206-419-4917

You ain't kidding the quality has gone way down, and the price way up. The last one I bought was a Douglas and one week later a cell connector detached. Then 6 months later a cell failed. Can't help you on a recommenation.
