Hi, New to the forum and need some advice. Recently acquired a Mitsubishi FG35, propane powered forklift with the Mitsubishi/Chrysler 3.0 engine. Was told the machine didn't run, various reports of the problems but most centered around blown head gasket and coolant in the oil. Mostly likely the machine was from the mid to late '90's with around 3,000hrs.
The machine has been taken to a local dealer who diagnosed it as a cracked head and found that the heads were severely corroded / pitted as well (aluminum heads). Not sure yet what other damage or problems the engine may have. Quoting $6k for a rebuilt engine and install. This is more than I wanted to spend on this machine, but I'm not sure if there are any options. Any possibility to work with a donor engine from an automobile that used the same engine and convert it to propane, or just use parts? How different are the car engines from the version in the forklift?
Any other thoughts or suggestions? Thanks, David
