Advice needed: Best way to mount front cameras (and maybe proximity sensors as plan B) on Toyota electrical 8FBN25/30 and diesel 8FD25 forklifts

Hey everyone,

I came across a post here about the need for both front and rear cameras on forklifts, and I wanted to share that we're facing the same issue. Our fleet mainly consists of Toyota 8FBN25 and 8FD25 models.

We need :

Rear cameras: That part is fairly straightforward, and the installation seems manageable.

Front cameras: This is where things get tricky.

My initial idea was to install a single front camera with about a 120° angle in the placement I'm showing in the picture, but I'm not sure if that will give enough visibility. Another option I'm considering is adding two front cameras, but that would require a monitor capable of displaying both feeds at the same time. My concern is that this might create "visual noise" for the operator.
As an alternative solution, I've also been thinking about proximity sensors maybe lateral sensors that could help in tight areas, since forklifts often end up rubbing against tires and causing long-term damage. The challenge, though, is figuring out where exactly to place such sensors on the front so that they can effectively detect obstacles without false positives.

Here's where I'd really appreciate feedback:

Can you criticize this front-camera idea? Do you see flaws I'm missing?

Where would you suggest placing a front camera? I can't just go with the usual "forks-only" placement, because our company specifically wants operators to have a wide front view when lifting loads, not just the tips of the forks.

Has anyone here tried a similar setup? Would love to hear your experiences or suggestions on the best combination of cameras and/or sensors for front forklift safety.
