Discussion:
Dashes and red blinking light

Wonder if anyone has seen the two red dashes and blinking dot in left upper corner. Dot seems to blink continuously and not any pattern etc
I don't see anything of the sorts in the service manual.
Unit is new to me and don't know the history.
Batteries are charged and tested ok..
Don't see any means to post a picture of it.
Thanks in advance

if it is a newer revision joystick control and it has the small LED window built in then yes there will also be a red dot on in it and also some LED bars showing the battery charge level. If it is an older revision joystick without the LED window then that red light is a fault indicator and the battery level indicator is several green lights usually across the bottom, at full charge all of them will light up and as it discharges they will fall off one at a time till the batteries need to be charged again. I believe the last light turns red and will not let the lift go up but it will still drive so you can get it to the charger. This is not the fault light, that light usually has an indicator with an exclamation point inside a triangle. (if your facia decal is damaged or worn off then of course you may not know which is which).
Can you tell me what the serial number of the lift is?
And as far as pictures forkliftaction does restrict hyperlinks without permission but you can use my email and send a couple to me if you like, it's in my post signature.

Thank you for that information, another person I spoke to had also said that. I also have one solid Red light on the joystick and wonder if that is normal as well?

if the LED display is showing 2 dashes and a blinking dot in the corner that means it is in powered on mode with no faults.
Even if there is a fault it may not always show up when powered on, you will have to select a drive or lift mode and move the joystick to get it to display a fault if one exists. There should be an information placard on the side near the LED display on the ground control area showing you what fault codes mean.
Ironically nowhere in any of the manuals does it tell you what the normal mode display looks like but it is 2 dashes and a blinking dot.
