Forward won’t engage

I have an older deadwood forklift not sure of the model the tag on the transaxle says ser# LS309468 that 3 might be an 8 trans gp # KS53 and part #D141137 the data tag has an ID # 55-ESS?AO37 it's hard to read it has reverse but no forward I've checked the shifter switches they check good the solenoids are clicking when engaged I switched the solenoids thinking one might be sticking but still no forward that's about as far as I want to go without more information can anyone help thanks
