The 2.4 were known for bad harness around the coil and left side of engine. Look at your wire schematic for the harness at the coil. Make sure you check for battery voltage, 5 volt reference and ground. You can send the wire schematic to fishmech at **** dot Net
Gm 2400 engine cranks no start does not smell burnt no was giving code 522780-2 sometimes that says monotroll switches has done that for a while and would test itself and drive. then started this canbuss code started it would not up/ down or drive. Called ALTA he checked wiring messed with connectors and boom has not run since he was stumped. VSM will be the last thing to fail. If you do not smell anything burnt, it should be good. Has anything been installed or removed from lift recently or any damage done? I do not have any schematics or I would tell you which wire to check. What engine is in this lift? Does the engine crank and not start or does nothing. Have you verified all fluids for engine? Thanks
Ok so I pulled every connector out of the VCM was a chore but removed module and every connector inside looks like it's new. Also removed VCM and visually inspected all pins and there like new also. No damage to side covers but removed them and the harness is not damaged or chaffed anywhere. Ever find VSM bad?

Yes, they will get moisture in them and rust out. Does not happen all the time, but once in a while. Have you removed the kick panel and checked all connections going to the VSM. This is the black box mounted on the right side under the kick panel. The bottom connector supplies power to everything. Should have all red wires. Make sure there is no damage to the outside of the lift where the step is at. Wire harness routes around panel and can be damaged.
Just checked all fuses took no chances I pulled each one and made them power a bulb there all good, pulled all four connectors on the fuse box and all connectors look fine. Have you ever seen a fuse box go bad?

Have you checked all fuses for power on both sides? I do no like checking with ohms as you can get a reading and fuse still is bad. Focus on fuse 8. I am going by memory, retired last year. What engine is in the lift? If it is the 3.0, possible failed harness. Also verify electrical connections at the fuse box. Spread pins at the box will cause this. Good luck
Thanks it has 2.4 volts using pin C at A and B and also if I use battery ground, I switched relays but no change. Previously I did find the yellow and green wire loose in the ECU plug and repaired the connection still no change. I also checked the group of red wires joined together by engine plug for voltage my thought is it appears the ecu is not getting powered up by the VCM as. Traced them back to the fuss/relay box and see this group gets power from a relay that's why I switched the relays already. Now at a loss still but Guessing that's why the can buss error as there are off components, does this sound right?

Since you already know what the code stands for, need to check for voltage at the same location. Pins A and B should read 2.0 to 2.5 volts. Use pin C as your ground. If no reading, use battery negative. If it reads now, bad wire at pin C. Change relays around at the PDM. Verify all connections at the ECU are clean and good. Let us know what you find. Thanks
