Discussion:
Inching valve location parts number/servoice manual.

I've started this as a separate thread to my intitial question regarding this model as it is a different topic really.

The T35D that i've just purchased is really slow to move, it takes half throttle for it to move an inch, but once you've trvelled a few hundred metres, it's a lot better (as if it's buuilt up pressure).

I did notice this morning on firing it up and putting it straight into gear that it moved easily, but after moving it forwards and backwards a couple of metres this faded away and it was full revs again.

I then tried moving with the inching pedal pressed (when warmed up/moving okay), this didnt make the slightest bit of difference, it was as if the pedal wasnt working (until you hit the point where the brakes cut in).

There's an adjuster linkage from the pedal, i turned this down but this also didnt make any difference.

I'm hoping it's a stuck valve, but dont know what it looks like or where it should be located, can anyone advise or even tell me where i can purchase a service manual / parts manual , I tried Caterpillars site, but couldnt find anything there.

I also dont know where to dip the transmission fluid level or where the filter is, but do know this hasn't been chamged in 15 years (it only has 6,000 hours on it).

Many thanks in advance for any guidance / help

I managed to fix this without any manuals (but if someone can tell me where to purchase one, i would apprciate it).

I'm placing this here in the hope it might help someone with a similar issue.

The oil filter for the transmission was loose (the gearbox and mast operate from the same oil reservoir), when cleaning it to find the part number i made the situation worse, i must have disturbed the grime around the filter when cleaning it, so removed the filter and noticed that the centre mounting bolt/adaptor (screws into the housing and the filter screws onto that) was very loose.

I tightened the adaptor, fitted a new filter (the old one had a crease in the seal) checked the oil, started it up, lifted the mast right up (to remove any air bubbles) and the forklift drove perfectly. Started it 24 hours later, drove straight away, no issues and no oil leak.
