Discussion:
Hard plug in reverse.

One of my crown sp3020's has a hard plug in reverse. You'll be in forward travel above 2 MPH and try to plug in reverse and as soon as the reverse switch is engaged it will put the lift into a dead stop. Then reverse will not work. You have to key off and on in order to get reverse travel back.

I checked the POT and had a bad spot so I changed it out with a new one and adjusted it accordingly, but had no change in operation. Still plugging hard in reverse.

This all started happening after replacing the MOSFET. I swapped it out with a new GE IGBT Module.

Any Ideas?

Hey thanks for the advice. I got into a little more this morning and figured out what was wrong. I had a loose connection on the forward contactor for the D1 side of the traction motor. The connection was loose to the point that it was arcing and actually welded the bolt to the terminal lug.

Also I had the power cables swapped. 8-/... I have my blonde moments at times,,,I overlooked this when I put it back together after installing the new IGBT Module I guess. Weird thing is that it ran fine and I didn't notice the hard plug when testing it before putting it back on the floor for use.

if there are any issues with the drive system it should be displaying an error on the display. If the display is not showing an error you may want to check the controller itself, if it has an led it may be blinking a code when it is in the error state.
If this is an ev100 system you will need an ev handset to pull the code.

Fact of the week
In May 2023, a Belgian Malinois named Wilson played a key role in the rescue of four children lost in the Amazon jungle. The young children were missing for 40 days after a plane crash that killed their mother and other adults. Wilson tracked the children's footprints, leading the military to their location.
