Hi,
We just purchased a used unit that needs the batteries replaced. Unless I overlooked something very basic I cannot see how the batteries are removed from the battery tray assembly. I was unable to find any help with online searches.
Thank you
Steve

Yes. You will need a couple strong people that know how to disconnect and connect cables.
We have this unit as well and need to replace the batteries. I was quoted $1547.28 by a local Crown dealer. Are you telling me that we can just go to Sam's Club and buy golf cart batteries?
Ok Thank you. I'll look for them tomorrow.
Thanks again for your help.
They are also known as golf cart batteries. The part number is GC-2 and most auto part stores carry them.

Sorry for delay in re-posting. I was able to get the battery carrier out with the information you provided, so thank you for that. The battery weight was marked as 75# each so with the 4 batteries and the carrier it was 300#+. I am not familiar with the battery brand(GNB Industrial Power). Does it have to be the identical brand to go back in the forklift? Are there any stores in particular that carry forklift batteries?
I will look at it later today and take some pictures. Thanks for input.
I will post the pictures later this evening.
Also, can you take the top batteries out first to make the tray lighter? There is a bolt that holds the tray in too.
Is there holes in the top of the battery tray you can slide a long pipe through and you and a buddy lift with all your might?
Hi
Thanks for answering. I don't want to sound stupid but what type of device do I need to lift the entire tray out? It looks fairly heavy with the batteries(maybe 200# or more).
The whole battery tray with the batteries in it lifts out.
