Discussion:
SJ3226 won't move backward

Hey guys,

I got an SJ3226 and the operator complained that the lift stop going backward all of a sudden.

Now it doesn't even respond to the command of the joystick when going back, but when going forward the equipement doesn't move, but you can hear the hydraulic unit going. The pins on the wheel doesn't go back in to allow it to move. Could it be a solenoid?

And if you have any ideas for the backward issue, would be greatly appreciated.

Ty to take the joystick unit and plug it straight in the back of the skyjack where the ladder is. If it works fine you know your problem is in your harness between the base and the top cage.

Not that I remember. It sounds like the seal is bypassing in the cylinder.

Would there be any kind of safety valve or something that would prevent it from releasing the brakes?

Could be a stuck valve or a blown seal in the brake cylinder. Have you checked to see if there is oil delivery at the brake cylinder?

Solved the issue with the no backward problem, now it's just the brakes that won't let go.

Checked the relays they all seem fine, I've got power going in and out of the solenoids. Could it be the valve that isn't working properly?

If this could give any hint, while playing with the control box, when I pressed the horn button the hydraulic unit started?
