ok here is my follow up. had to call local RAYMOND dealer to check out code 5D. according to them my model truck should not show that code. i believe it had to do with my truck not having "SMARTI SYSTEM" but the tech did not confirm that. however, he cleared the original software on the VFC and re-installed proper version of software and code is now gone. truck is now operational.

hello, i have an R40TT truck with a 2E and 5D showing on display. 2D refers to 2e - traction motor temperature out of range and after reading your posts i have a better idea what code 5D is. is this common? to have multiple error codes displayed? also which error code should i troubleshoot first?

regards
Jay

UPDATE: 05/11/2017
took care of 2E issue. had VFC tested at FSIP and tested good. truck turns on, completes self test, then displays 5D. all hydraulic functions work. however, i'm limited to 1mph on FWD/REV. i don't see a cable from the VFC to Smarti and i tried about 20 different variations of password and can't access config menu. looking for help..willing to trade.

regards
jay

itd help to have the serial number
but according to the book i have:
code 5D
no SMARTi system response
according to this you should have 1 mph speed restriction
check the cable from the system card to SMARTi module
onthe system card its a serial cable just above the fuses on the large card connector JPS9
the connector on the SMARTi module is JR1

other than that it might be a bad SMARTi module or a bad VFC (vehicle function card)
but this info really depends on the serial number
