Discussion:
24 volt model....

hi gents
ive brought home a 35rrtt198.
have been charging the (11x 2volt cell) battery with the worst cell isolated. it shows 23.6v (with surface charge included....)
im getting nothing at all at truck...no light, no movement, no sounds,(though i did briefly hear a motor spinning and a gurgling sound)...
after having read plenty here tonight, im going to start tomorrow by looking at the fuses, the cards, hydraulic oil level and maybe motor brushes...
any advice for a newbie is greatly appreciated!
ps. is this machine a goody?, ie, can be kept operational fairly cheaply?
cheers
pps was quoted 300 for the manual!!! omg!!

The motors will run, but you need the valves to open to direct the oil in the right direction. We can send pics in the email. By the way, if your truck has 2 lift motors...it should be a 36v system

in the a.m. ill run the pump with the bleed screw open{ram[s]}
unlikely that will help with the fwd/aft movement issue...
found a couple of solenoids...wonder how these are checked?

Yes, that is the brake fluid reservoir, and you need dot5 fluid. On the side of the drive motor is the slave cylinder. Pump the left foot pedal a few times, hold it down, and loosen the bleed screw to get the air out of that system. This forum doesn't let you post pictures, how can I directly contact you?

ok so the small cylindrical aluminium reservoir is confirmed as the brake fluid tank...nothing like having a near 3T machine moving under gravity!!!

so late yesterday, i removed the top cover from machine...
gasp!! found that come critters had made themselves a home inside!!
bless them, they had also chewed on a whole lot of wiring.
im guessing its the control unit...has appx 10 terminals on each side...got the wiring all back together now and still machine behaving the same.
now to locate some bleed screws!!
thanks!!

Looks like you have to start cracking open some hoses and cylinder bleed screws to get the oil flowing again

the voltage stays above 19 but not by much...19.6 v.
dont think its enough...
i got it wrong earlier...
when the thumb button is depressed while moving joystick up,...a second motor,(in addition to steer motor) runs...
the trigger button cycles through the 3 modes but nothing from any...

Now that you have oil in the steer pump, are you able to reach, tilt, and sideshift?

yeah back again...

Thanks the swift reply!
Beginners mistake!, must stand in truck to get the pump gurgling...
put 5 lt of grade 32 hydraulic oil in tank and still gurgling......****!

ill check what the volts drop to...
i think 4 of my 12 cells are crook...

the pump that i can hear running is the steering...
nothing fwd or backward, up or down as yet....
only the steering so far.

Surface charge seems sufficient, but after turning the key on... what voltage drop do you get? If it drops to 19v, the truck will not work

The use of "hello" as a telephone greeting is attributed to Thomas Edison. He is said to have suggested it as a simpler alternative to other greetings, such as "Do I get you?" or "Are you there?".
