Discussion:
Diagnostic Tools available

Has anyone besides Toyota dealers ran across any forklift diagnostic tools online that will scan and diagnose the 8 series Toyotas? Really would like to know because without a diagnostic scanner of some kind will start to get pricey everytime a dealer has to come in to scan for 100+ dollars an hour. Now that we are growing our fleet and the 8 series are what we are getting all Toyota 8's. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!!

Showing items 1 - 16 of 16 results.
Does the 8 series analyzer diagnostic tool also work for the 7 series?

I just saw your post and I am in the same situation, is that any way you can help me with OBD2 tester? Did you find any OBD2 that can diagnosis Toyota forklift series 8 from 2016 to 2020?
Thank you

Deluxe dash has speedometer and buttons
Regular has no buttons no spedo, but still displays codes.

Why do you need a handset or software?

OK, I have to be the one to ask the obvious question. What does the deluxe dashboard look like? A picture would be worth a blue-million words.

The only way we'll ever stand is on our knees with lifted hands. Lord make me courageous!
Roi you wouldn't happen to have any part numbers for the handheld and software would you? We're a national account rental fleet so I might stand a chance at acquiring one.

There is a handheld unit which works with most models in the 8 range such as 8FGCU25, 8FGCU30, 8FG25, 8FG30.
Toyota warehouse kit uses TruckCom program and a canbox interface.
If you need more information drop me a mail.

The de lux dash does everything that the official Toyota diagnostic handset can do.

BT Toyota equipment can store the unique id information of equipment connected to the diagnostic port & the information is easily extracted by an authorized technician sending a download from the truck back to the factory.

Buying overseas you will be lucky if you even get it they will mostly likely want you to pay all or part of the money up front. Heard a lot or horror stories.
The other issue is that you are buying pirated software and most likely if some type of accident happened Toyota is not going to stand behind any warranty or lawsuit if they determine you were not using factory authorized diagnostics. Most OEM's have the ability to figure out if it was a factory authorized diagnostics or pirated diagnostics were used to make changes.

Ok, I do realize that with the on screen dash, that we can read codes and follow that, but for further chasing problems, I was wondering if there were any other diagnostic tools that may have possibly work for these machines in particular??? Money aside, can we buy computer directly from overseas then?

It is a dealer only tool unless you are a national account or have a very large fleet.

If your 8 series has the de lux dash board fitted you don't need any scan tools.

If it doesn't have the de lux dash look at buying the Toyota plug in handset instead.
