Yes true. Osha provides a list of training topics, however, the employer may exclude those topics which are not relevant to safe operation at the employee's work location. So it's really safe.

Have you considered using a forklift simulator that includes training modules based on OSHA standards. It is a safe and efficient way to train all of your operators.

Immugio - I am not sure of the exact certifications needed but I would suggest a Forklift Safety Technician and an Electrical Safety Technician. The National Association of Safety professionals offers both and you can complete them ONLINE.

Check out our website or email me directly if I can help (brad @ NASPweb.com)

hey, i'm new here, and i have a stupid question. what training / certification is required for people to do electric truck maintenance? i've looked thru osha policy and it just says "authorized personel" can do repairs. specific machine is yale walk behind electric pallet jack. that's not the technical name of it but i have a funny story for whoever answers

im required by policy to lie if you ask me stuff i can't say
redline,
not to sound short here but pretty much all main brand lifttruck dealers have in-house training. I highly doubt they will let any outsiders come in and train unless they are special like customers with huge accounts and thier own techs, that is the only time i've ever seen any dealer make any exceptions to that rule.

If your an independent tech you will have to rely on guys like these in here now promoting thier websites that are 3rd party vendors.
