Very good information. I never could be accurate enough to pedal dance. Thankfully most of the newer trucks pulling the batt cable for just a few minutes clears them out
Thanks guys I made some changes check them out see what you think. I appreciate your feedback.
Next posting will be clearing the Toyota service maintenance indicator.
yep that might help a few on the sequence but as edward said
there is a timing thing with the pedal presses and it has to be almost dead on, not much room for error.
When i do it i watch the hour meter if it has an led one and the flashes in the hour meter generally are in 1 sec flashes, on 1sec, off 1sec, on 1sec, off 1sec... like that.
But like i said, if your off even for more than 1 sec or maybe 2 then you will not get in and yes, if you have any issues with the PPS then the pedal dance will not work.
I've been doing that pedal dance thing for a while and sometimes i still have issues getting into mode 2. It is annoying really :o/
heh
Marcel, thanks for the pedal dance flow chart, if I may offer a few improvements, you may want to note that the 5 pedal pushes must be done within 5 seconds, as someone that take a second on each pedal push may never be able to get to clear the codes.
ALSO I would note that any code related to the pedals themselves (including brake light switch errors) will never be cleared by the pedal dance and will require the software etc.
We added a blog entry with a diagram on the "pedal dance" procedure to reset error codes on K21 and K25

as for the code E27
this denotes an error in the signal from the POS Sensor
the most common cause of this is generally the spark plugs being worn (wide gap from wear)
changing the spark plugs and properly gapping them generally fixes this problem but just for posterity i would also check the sensor wiring at the sensor.
and of course to reset this code as with any codes you can use the diagnoser program and a laptop or do the pedal dance as was previously described.
actually there are more common causes besides relays even though the relays are commonly found to be the issue in most cases.
The most common causes :
EGI relay 1 open or short circuit
EGI Relay 2 open or short circuit
Main C relay open or short circuit
Ignition relay open or short circuit
Open ground circuit
Open across fuse: F6- EGI relay 1 or F7- EGI relay 2 open circuit
Corroded or broken wires at the ECM or lower left side step plate relay box
and body ground.
Internal open or short in the ECM
Abnormally low or high ECM to sensor output voltage detected
happy hunting!
Hola JHpantaleon.
"The Pedal Dance"
Turn the ignition switch on with accel. pedal released, after 3 seconds fully depress the accel pedal 5 times within 5 seconds(end in released position). After 7 seconds(timing is very important...1 mississippi 2 mississippi etc....) press and hold down accel pedal for approximately 10 seconds(again timing) until the hour meter starts blinking, release pedal and push down and hold again for 10 seconds) hour meter should be on with no codes showing, shut key off and test to see if codes cleared.
hello someone have and idea how to reset the error E27 on C5000 ?
DTC E30 is an ECCS C/U Error signal
Most common result is failed relay.
No supplied power to the ECM for some predetermined amount of time.
ECM detects insufficient power supply.
ECM pin 119-wire 189-wire color Key off/ Key on! Running 0/ Battery volts
ECM pin '120 Key off! Key on/ Running 0/ Battery volts
ECM Pin 121-wire 190-- wire color White. Must have battery volts all times
Check ECM grounds. Always 0,0 volts.
EGI relay 2 is a related circuit / Failed relay can produce this code.
Start checking fuel pressure, At idle must be 28 kpa (use the diagnostics to read this. On the 2007-8 fuel system 34
kpa)
When accelerating what is the pressure dropping to. if it drops low you have a fuel lock stuck partially or a failed
regulator valve. Check fuel pressure at high rpms and apply back tilt into relief. What is the pressure now ? If below '19
kpa, then you are starving for fuel. Check for failing vaporizer or block fuel lock filter.
Check the balance line at the injector holder (vacuum, hose from vaporizer to injection holder intake elbow, If you smell
fuel, replace the vaporizer. If no fuel, check for liquid fuel to be in the vapor hose. If found, replace the vaporizer. If no
liquid fuel.
Check assist injector for a stuck or unseated plunger.
Check at the lower relay box specifically the ignition relay. The terminals of the harness have been known to be rotted
off in the debris packed around the base. The terminals inside the relay box were also rotted away. in some cases
replacing the box and relay has resolved issue.
