Indian forklift maker enters world rankings
ESSLINGEN, Germany
Thursday, 18 January 2007

Nacco Industries has replaced Jungheinrich in third-place ranking in German magazine dhf's World Ranking List of Manufacturers of Powered Industrial Trucks for 2005/06, while an Asian manufacturer made a surprise appearance.

The annual survey, conducted by dhf chief editor Wolfgang Degenhard exclusively for dhf, revealed the top 10 as:
* Toyota Industries Corp (Japan)
* Kion (Germany)
* Nacco Corp (USA)
* Jungheinrich (Germany)
* Crown Equipment Corp (USA)
* Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (Japan)
* Cargotec (Finland)
* Komatsu Ltd (Japan)
* Manitou (France)
* Nissan Motor Company (Japan)

With truck sales valued at EUR2.2 billion (USD2.85 billion), Nacco Corp, which produces Yale, Hyster, Deca and Sumitomo forklifts, has surpassed Jungheinrich, which made truck sales of EUR1.497 billion (USD1.94 billion) for 2005.

Crown Equipment Corp moved up one, supplanting Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Doosan Corp also moved up one, up replacing Nippon Yosuki, the Nichiyu forklift manufacturer, at number 12.

Former 18th-ranked Terex Corp moved five positions down to number 23. Chinese manufacturers Anhui Heli and Hangzhou each moved one position up to 16th and 18th respectively.

Visit our website at heliforkliftcanada.com. This will tell you all you need to know. We service only Canada.

Keep in mind that the Heli is by no means a new product. Heli has been manufacturing machines and parts for TCM and others including their own line since the 60's.

I'm not ramming the Heli product down anyone's throat. I am merely asking people to do their own research rather than listen to the competition bashing the product on this forum. Incorrect information is posted regularly. Heli is on the right track in the past few years.

Dear Jim
You are for obvious reasons very pro Heli and surely they offer a very competitive price at a quality of x (sorry have not tried Heil before).
Surely, as a rather new player on any market they will have problems to support compare to the big market player (whoever they are).
I personally would guess that selling is not the issue but as we all know we face problems on the after sales service. Parts Prices, Parts availability, delivery time, response time from Service Technician/Engineers and sure when starting up a rather small and wide spread network.
Guessing that this is nothing new when you introduce a "new" brand.
I would also guess that the NA market is around 110-115K new units a year, why don't you just tell us how very good you have done and how you handle your after sales.

Heli Canada has been VERY successful. I'm sorry, but I'm not able to comment on sales numbers on a public forum. Acceptance has been very good. Acceptance is a product of the Canadian Forklift Distributors Limited, Heli Canada and its dealers that are behind the product. That is what makes the line successful. In the past, this support did not exist. Today, Heli is making the right decisions. This will come in the US soon through the US distributors.

Jim - what kind of volume is being done in Canada as an example. Would be a good indication of whether Heli was being accepted in the market - do you know?

Steponmebbbboom,

I strongly recommend that you post accurate information if you are going to post in this "reputable" forum. I assure you, as the Canadian distributor of Heli forklifts, that Steponmebbbboom's statements are inaccurate for current Heli products. He is merely a basher with strong ties to the competition. I recommend that everyone do there own due diligence when purchasing a forklift.

in our cheap and crappy NA culture, I am sure Heli will sell well. If Walmart is any gauge of the public's understanding of quality, look out indeed, China is coming.
Hey guess what Yugo was the number 15 top producing automobile in the world!

Yugo could you please and say hi....Yugo?

How is Hystu (sp?) I mean Tai Lift I mean Heli doing in NA sales?

Here's a point of contention, All of the hydraulic hoses on the Heli lift trucks use a metric flat-face O ring fitting that is not available locally, it either has to be ordered from the dealer at hideously high prices (I was quoted almost $500 for one section of hose) or the fittings have to be custom ordered from an aftermarket mfr with engineering costs, or, the swivel end has to be cut off the old fitting and silver soldered onto a modified stock fitting. On a typically $30 sideshift end hose I am paying upwards of $150 to have this done. Also, every hose seems to be attached on at least one end to a union that is also a weldment, so a full conversion to JIC or something isnt feasible.
