Discussion:
SMH!!!!! Bought out LPM/Intrupa !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just off the hott wire from all of your sales reps. SMH has aquirred all of IMCH (LPM&Intrupa). How is this gonna affect the Large LPM Elite dealers? Will this put all of us on a level playing field? Will all the small independent forklift mom & pops
still be able to buy at the same rate OEM's can?

i've worked here for 13 years and the most important thing i've learned is that i work for my customers more than i work for the "company". i will continue to do so wherever or for who ever i work. i'm sure that each entity has their strong points. hopefully these can be combined to service our customers in a way that is beneficial to both. as far as "setting on the fence"? sometimes you have go out in the field to see if the fence needs to be replaced or just mended.

I've never had the need for a single source. If I did, I'd buy all my parts from the OEM I represent. Buying from one additional forklift vendor isn't exactly rocket science. The one-stop shopping arguments sounds a lot like what my OEMs tell me.

As far as price increases, think about it; why wouldn't they raise prices? What would stop them? There's no one left to compete against from an aftermarket perspective.

Since GW brought up Clark, one thing that is sure to get better is TVH/SMH/Intrupa's availability of Clark parts. TVH bought all the old inventory from Clark Germany and my understanding is that they have parts records and prints for every Clark part, including Germany and USA built trucks. That part is sweet.

look at the bright side. with this consolidation TVH will be able to get much better pricing from vendors and will be able to keep any increases to a minimum. you will also be able to get all your parts from one source.

How many VP's, general managers do you need? Hard to believe those guys would stick around, willingly or unwillingly.

I wonder if they'll keep LPM and Intrupa brands. They'll have stock 3 ways: stocked under LPM #, Intrupa #, SMH #....

"Planning this acquisition started a while ago. TVH wants to be a true one-stop-shop for customers and therefore TVH is forced to keep growing," he said.

CORRECTION, TVH BOUGHT IMC, NOT SMH... YES THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. REMEMBER, TVH OWNS SMH AS WELL... At this point long term effects obviously will not be known, but I do not see them turning their backs on the small mom and pop's in the industry...

Word is that on Friday the new management immediately terminated 4 people at Intrupa that were hired by Intrupa away from SMH.

Mark Friday
Dave Edwards in Canada
and 2 others...

How's that for vindictive?

Now the aftermarket company will start acting like an OEM.
