Battery Desulfation

Has anybody been checking out the different types of battery desulfation machine that are on the market now and increasingly growing. any feedback?

Dear Dave,

In the US market these products are branded under the name XTENDER from the company FSIP located in Pennsylvania.
You can contact Sandra Gunthorpe for more information.

It seems a lot of the opinions are from people that have never used the machines, I have been using them now for a few years and am quite happy with the results, and am on the second machine. I am not trying to promote a certain brand but can confirm these systems are not for shorted batteries or damaged cells, just to eliminate sulfation in a quick efficient manner with out adding anything to the acid and without creating a huge amount of heat and battery damage. most of you are completely correct to say that the best way to prevent the sulfation is to service the batteries correctly, unfortunately no one ever does, and that keeps us all in business, just like properly servicing a forklift will help prevent breakdowns.

Replus,

I noticed that the units in the video are not offered in the USA is there a reason for that?

Dear Dan,

if you provide me with your e-mail id i could send you some reports showing and proving that some technologies do work. However i totally agree with you that proper battery maintenance will prevent a lot of problems but we all know that that doesn't happen.

We sold over 500 regen machines world wide and all our customers are very happy and returning customers.
Have a look at our online movie

These are "Gadgets" and do not work! Take care of your batteries and they will not sulphate

After all those years,it's likely to have other damage beyond sulfation, especially if you are talking a 'tubular' product.

You're better off getting scrap value and applying to a used battery. By the time you spend money with these 'sav-a-batt' white knight battery saviours, you would have been money ahead.

Good luck.

reviving an old thread but i have a new never used enersys 12-85-13 that has been sitting since 2007 or 2008 probably without any charge maintenance since new.
will operated the truck about 30seconds until the low volt light comes on.
is there any hope for this thing or any desulfate chrgers or products that could revive it even if for only 2 or 3 hour run time?

Hi Everyone

I had tried to regain the battery by use of Epsom salt and it has been effective.

Can anybody shre their experience if idone with Epsom salt for desulfation of batteries

The trick to removing sulphation IS deep cycling of the battery. This forces sulphation out off of the plates and softens them enough so they can be discharged to capacity. What I see here is nothing new.

Dear Replus, I am familiar with Energic Plus, Zulu and some, but not all of the other products you mentioned earlier. Are you installing pulses on the batteries as well? Chemicals? I too am very interested in any honest accounting in this field. By the way, on Thursday we returned a 36 volt, 825AH spill proof - maintenance free GNB with a final efficiency of 89%. A perfect candidate for rejuvenation, the warranty for this battery had recently elapsed and it was only giving them a shaky quarter shift with 49% EFF. It required 5 cycles of our system and a few drops of distilled to achieve a full 40% increase in EFF. The highly productive, double shift produce co. in question is ecstatic to get a battery back that will endure an entire shift GUARANTEED by us over the next year, rather than forking over the cash to replace it. Do not fear, manufacturers. The new battery market will hardly perceive our humble tinkering. Sales reps on the other hand may eventually want to expand their bag of wares.

I agree with you 100% on proper care. 30 years in this Ind. has taught me a lot. What kind of HF charger do you use??

Dear,

We have been testing a lot of these battery regeneration techniques. Like there is battery zulu, MACBAT, BSI, Batterie plus,....you can not name it or we have done it. I can say that all of these techniques work. One technique more efficiently then another but they do work.
I can also tell you that the best way to take out the sulphation in a battery is to prevent it from getting there in the first place. This by maintaning your battery in the best possible way. Charger and battery in perfect ballance, always giving enough water after it has been charged. giving it a weekly equalisation charge every weekend.

That so far for the theory.... in real life we practically don't see a well maintained battery. therefore sulfation builds up and these techniques can be very handy. We have had results from 40% capacity back up to 79%.

thats why we have started with sales and promotion of regeneration technique that is the combination of charger and discharger (5 cycles max 42hours) and that works with high frequency pulsing. This way your battery isn't under a lot of stress and the sulfate is partially removed so you can use it again everyday without the need of giving it an extra charge during the day.

The ONLY thing I have ever seen that actually works is Hawkers (The old KW, Westinghouse battery co.) Life Plus series chargers. The reason they do work is they use a hi frequency PWM type charge. This causes far less heat generation during the charge cycle. In the long run, this helps the battery last longer and, when cycled to 80% discharge properly, will significantly increase battery life well beyond the 8yr. mfg. design spec. The Life Plus also uses about 40% LESS A/C power to operate. The Mfg. is confident enough to extend the warranty of its batteries to a full 6 years. In the late 80's they actually went to 7yrs. for a short time.

The first wheels carved out of stone in days before history began begets the same basic concept as the wheels on our glorious space shuttle - correct? Is it not also correct that the folks who designed the wheels on the space shuttle spent money, time, and effort developing them so that they will conform somewhat better than the original stone wheels for the intended application? John, You seem to be looking for an argument- Ask me no more - if you are truly interested in this tech. - whether it is to debunk or to elevate it to your most wise and learned standards, seek a word from one of BattLife's valued and long-term customers. Thanks for your interest in magnetic resonance, high frequency pulse technologies...
