Crown RR5700:
Stuck in side shift

Crown RR5715-40 , serial 1A475711. Sticks in side shift mode , multifunction handle switch sss is good ,tested voltage at access 4 , this unit has tilt ,reach an side shift.checked wiring to svs an svt solenoid valves an good. Seems to have 24 v negative when stuck in ss,but the handle switch is not closed yet it stays stuck in ss mode, switch the tilt an ss solenoid valves an no change. I suspect maybe access 4 may have an issue ,found nothing that makes it go out of ss, sometimes it's fine then you activate the sss switch to ss an it's stuck in ss mode.any ideals hit back an thanks.

Yeah it looks like the switch is bad. 18v should not be read at ca411-23. Seems like voltage is jumping the gap because the switch isn't opening fully.

Further testing I found the sss switch in A.2.4.15 says closed with out pushing it an voltage at ca411-23 open 18.77 v an closed 24.82, 18 volts must be enough to tell the access 4 that it's in side shift so it needs a new multifunction handle harness , sss switch is bad.

Have you checked the analyzer menu yet? It should be A2.4.15. That should show you what mode the sideshifter is in. To check the solenoid it should be A3.4.13.

You can also run a test for the sideshifter using A4.4.13. That will require you to be in service menu 3.

It could be an access 4 issue but the analyzer menu should help narrow it down.
