Discussion:
Strange transmission problem

Trans. pulls strong most of the time (2 forward and 2 reverse speeds). But, at random times it will suddenly not pull in any direction or gear.
When the problem is occurring:

- Pump and clutch pressures are well within normal ranges
- Torque converter pressures are low. Normal is 50-80 @ idle and 80-150 @ 2500 RPMs. Mine is barely off 0 at idle and 70 at 2500.
*Note: they are the same when trans. is pulling strong.
Clutch pressures are read AFTER the inching circuit so they are true "in pack" reading.
Problem occurs with all speeds at once so I am ruling out any clutch pack issues since there are 4 separate ones.
In my mind the only thing other than inching that affects all speeds and directions is the torque converter. But I have never had one fail intermittently! Also, stall test is normal.
Thoughts?? Thanks everyone.
