STILL EGV 1250

I have a Still EGV 1250, basically the anti crush switch is goosed and its mounted direct to a pcb, a wagner 401.

Im struggling to i d the part as there a 2 alternatives, 1 is for resistance type steering and another is point contact steering or something like that, although to my knowledge the truck has no steering at all. As usual i get no help from the technical dept at work and dont have much experience with trucks let alone still trucks.

Yes mate thats the one, a wagner box bolted to the tiller arm. Like a jack in the box when you open it out, the return springs connect to the inside of the box. Its been a couple of weeks since ive been back to the truck but im sure it had a few microswitches like you said.

Would you have any pictures of the set ups??

ahh thats the old style wagner head
theres 2 types of heads
the old style head which is in a square black box marked wagner
this used a few microswitches soldered to a board that were actuated by a cam mounted to the twistgrips
i dont ever remember seeing these old style heads with potentiometers ive only seen them with the switch boards (older linde EGU-20's made by still)

the newer linde EGU20-02's come with a more ergonomic styled head with a potentiometer and switches soldered on a board (you cant see or adjust it you can only replace the board)

if you have the newer style you most likely will have to change the setting labeled "throttle type" as still constantly changes the pot to 0-5v or a 5-0 volt and it almost always doenst match what you had in before
youll need a handset or the "Curtis PC Programmer" and its interface

both styles i believe have the emergency reverse switch soldered to the same board in both cases

the new board the switches are very small and the pot is encased in a black housing that the twistgrip shaft runs through

New York, New York its a heluva town..you know that The Bronx is up..and I'm Brooklyn down
I presume theyre the still part numbers, which is excellent. Im sure its the simplex single stage but il double check.

Was i right in saying it doesnt have power steering then??

Thanks for all your help people!! Appreciated.

Chris, there are two control cards, one for a simplex single stage mast and on for all other masts. The simplex mast part number is 4498092 (or ser ex 4498093) and the one for all other masts is 4498482 (or ser ex 4498471). I suspect the difference is related to the mast raise and lower buttons which are also fitted to the card.

I can get you the part number tomorrow, but you may well need a curtis 1207 handset to fit it, as the throttle type has been changed. If you are lucky a new one will go straight on and work, but you may need to change the throttle type in the curtis unit if you are not.
