Clark GPS25MB:
Starting Problems

Last week we went out to start our forklift and it wouldn't turn over. We did the obvious things, hooked up jumper cables from our big diesel truck, took out the starter and had it tested, and replaced the starter relay. But it still won't turn over. When we turn the key, we can get a clicking from what sounds like under the dash, but that's all. Not only that, but it has recently started making the clicking sound on it's own, with the key in the off position. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Possibly your keyswitch. Get yourself a good multimeter and learn how to use it, it is an invaluable tool for diagnosing electrical problems. With the key in the start position, check to see that the signal wire to the start relay is getting +12V. If it is not then either the keyswitch is no good, or the wiring between the keyswitch and the relay is at fault. Check the keyswitch to see that it is also getting a good +12V feed. I wonder if this clicking noise is coming from a circuit breaker, perhaps there is a short somewhere.
Good grief, charlie brown...
