Discussion:
specs for timing tensioner

Would anyone have the torque setting for the timing belt tensioner? This model has has 2.4 Vortec engine. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

It should be torqued at 15 ft lbs. The tab should be at the 7 o'clock position between the locators. If you install the belt and it is too tight, and the tensioner won't adjust it, the water pump can be turned to adjust the belt.
