SME DC/AC Inverters

Recently we had a problem with a SME DC/AC Inverter fitted to a Tecna forklift truck. We understand that the inverter is totally destroyed even though there aren't any signs of physical damage. A replacement unit from the forklift manufacturer is very expensive so we contacted the manufacturer of the inverter through their website. Unfortunately they have not responded and we are concerned that they may not exist anymore in view of the current economical climate.
Can anyone shed any light on this Italian company or can anyone advise us as to where we may be able to acquire a replacement at reasonable cost?
Look forward to any suggestions

Fact of the week
Foundling hatches are safe, anonymous drop-off points for unwanted infants, allowing parents in crisis a way to surrender a baby safely without fear of punishment, ensuring the child is rescued and cared for. The concept started in the 12th century, was abandoned in the late 19th century, then reintroduced in 1952. It has since been adopted in many countries.
