Discussion:
SMALL BUSINESS SYSTEM

We are a small hire/rental business in the UK,with one branch.
We hire and sell equipment, sell parts, sell labour and maintain our own and customers equipment, etc

We are looking for an integrated business system that will give us control of all areas of our business. We use SAGE for accounts.

Can anyone suggest a system we could look at.

Cheers PJ

I am curious if you can answer this question. How can "the best system" be one that offers no option to set min/max values within a main warehouse?

How can "the best system" use one stocking parameter instead of two like all other successfull business management systems for inventory?

How can "the best system" take 2 months for an item sold daily to finally become a stocking item automatically?

How can "the best system" be supported by no more than a handfull of people?

As much as I may come across as coming down on Softbase, I am VERY curious to see the answers to these questions. I'm really not quite sure what is so brag worthy about a system that can't do the things I've listed. Not to mention how much of a resource hog it is compared to NDS or Minitrac or any other business system out there that has been proven successful in small AND large dealerships.

After much research this is the best system. Weve been using it for 3-years. I am not sure it willl make sense to use in the UK due to support/installation issues, but contact Terry anyways.

My organization develops the IRIUM Business System in the Americas, but our sister company in the UK that co-develops IRIUM should definately be on your list.

Fact of the week
The word "robotics" was coined by Russian-born American science-fiction writer Isaac Asimov who first used the word in 1942 in his short story 'Runabout'. He characterised robots as helpful servants and as "a better, cleaner race."
