Hi there, i have a code 524230-3 shuts engine down after 30 secondes, replaced rear work light harness, pdm, i have spare trucks. I dont have the dash code, wondering if anyone has some ideas.

That is it. It is advisable to have a tech come in and verify the install. They may need to reload the CDF in the new VSM. It should work without any other action other than installing it, the dash display stores a backup CDF and when you install the new VSM it should be sensed by the display and up load the files to the new VSM. If the file stored in the dash is corrupt, you will get a corrupt load into the new VSM.
ok, thank you im guessing you need a dealer tech to change and set up vsm? I assume that is the module bolted to the dash on the right side?
If all the components in the circuit have been replaced or verified, the only thing left is the VSM. The driver can short causing this fault. I have had a couple units that needed a VSM replacement due to shorting out the LED tail lights.
