Unicarriers (& Nissan) CPF02A20V:
Ser# CPF02-003245

Datsun (nissan) I have an older Datsun or Nissan forklift here I have a transmission problem with this truck. I have forward travel but no reverse travel.

My pressures are as follows. Forward 90lbs at Idle 120lbs at 1/2 throttle Reverse I have 25lbs at Idle and 60lbs at 1/2 throttle.

There are 2 other test ports on this transmission labeled M & C
not sure what these are for.

I have removed the cover and checked the spool and it appears to be OK Not broken anyways.

I suspect clutch packs But would like to be more sure. Does anyone have troubleshooting Knowledge on this type of unit?

This is a powershift 1 speed transmission I think.

It will try to move a little with the wheels raised but I can stop it with my foot. I have removed the plate on the top of the transmission to check the valve spool. I will try the compressed air in the morning. Thanks for the advice...

Does it even try to go reverse if you rev it up? Sounds like you're on the right track. Is there a cover on the trans that you can remove to see inside? If so you could probably take a compessed air gun and apply air pressure to the F and R test ports and watch and listen to the clutch pack. Put the lever in gear while doing this. You should be able to hear the reverse one leaking bad if the piston is cracked or any or the seal rings are blown. That would prove you have to take it out.
