Runs, Low Batt, Won't lift - show error "Logic Failure #1, 12705h #01 33 degree C*

Unit was running great, battery was low so we charged it, charger (enersys impaq) gives green light and the forklift diag. screen says the battery is at 37.2V (it's a 36V lift) but the forklift LCD says it's low with 2 bars remaining. Unit runs in all directions with bright lights, the forks move in all direction except it won't lift, so we enter diagnostic mode and it shows this one error " Logic Failure #1, 12705h #1, 33* degrees. Did some research and it seems everything is pointing to the Nissan Controller and PCM Module Assembly (#Hel-23710-4K40A) not sure if that's the part number of ours, no other real problem because we've never had an issue before except we did have to bring all the battery cells back to normal level with about 16 to 22 oz of distill water because our AZ heat wreaks havoc on the batteries during summer, this summer we were shutdown for a month. Stand-up model unit - Any help or advice is most appreciated in advance - Thank you, Phil

That means the controller is not getting it supplied voltage. Test battery for leakage from neg post to frame. 3 volts is spec anything more and the battery requires cleaning. i would start there, before you call a controller. Also if it is A/c the motors do not like heat and fault out.

Thank you (BLey) for the info, as soon as it cools off in my neck of the woods we will pull the 18 cell battery @ 2500 lbs and test each one. Still very hot in the west, in the shade it's a 110

Cheers

Just keep in mind a 36v battery sitting at 37.2v is roughly only 70% charged. A fully charged 36v battery will be at 38.16v (ish). And basically dead would be around 35v.

Most BDI indicators need to see a certain voltage per cell before they reset to 100%. Typically over 2.1v per cell. Its possible that after charge, voltage is dropping below this reset point before plugging into the machine.

When you check charging it should be rougly 2.4v to 2.45v per cell or 43v to 44v for a 36v battery.

When checking battery underload you shld see a max of a 6v drop. (Sitting at 38v max drop would be 32v underload.

Its possible a module has a bad connection, not getting proper voltage supply or wiring or what not but Id have to say 9 times out of ten when I have an issue with an electric truck it turns out to be a battery problem.

And if the truck detects battery capacity is below 20% it will put itself into lift lock out to try and force you to charge (which is around 2 bars)

SOLVED - I seen another post by someone replying to a question for a different forklift but he stated this issue happens on many forklift.

Solution - Plug the charger into the battery and let it charge for 15 min, then unplug the charger and plug the battery back into the folk lift and power it on and all should be good - HE WAS RIGHT ALL HAS been working since I posted this - He said it happens a lot with the Nissan/Unicarrier forklift.

The on-line supply company wanted me to replace the computer relay module at $8,000 with me returning my old unit as a core OR I could pay them $250 to test my module and if it was bad I get the $250 credit. What a rip, they can't tell you to try things first? gosh
