Discussion:
Running Hot

Forklift was overheating found a broken thermostat, replace it and installed a new water pump also. Continues to run hot but not overheat.

Took compression reading (cold)
Piston 1 - 130
Piston 2 - 120
Piston 3 - 140
Piston 4 - 155
Could anybody tell me if these numbers are good?

Those numbers are not to bad, Can I assume these are dry readings, meaning you did not squirt some oil in spark plug holes before checking? A cylinder leakdown test is more accurate than the old compression test Also, are you using gauge reading for your determination of "running hot"? I have seen sending units get damaged from "overheats" and give "false" gauge readings after problem is fixed. If you don't have a hand held temp tester, try new or "known"good sending unit. Radiator in good shape? ---Take radiator cap off and idle truck and look for air bubbles--might have to fill rad up to top to see good.
