We have no idea which way the industry will go. While one man is investing all in developing a better hot air balloon the next one invents the plane leaving the balloon worthless. Toyota Can spend their fortune researching a certain technology just to have a better technology appear out of left field rendering Toyota's technology worthless.
The future is just a speculation thus it's a gamble.

Their personal animosity and business rivalry divided their German hometown Herzogenaurach. The town became known as "the town of bent necks" due to the intense loyalty to each brand.
