Many thanks again! Went ahead and called Toyota Lifts of Houston, gave part counter the model # and serial. After a few minutes waiting on hold, they said it should be a 5R. Will go with that for now.
Update: Got myself the Toyota spec sheet for this machine. Yes, it is a 5R engine in my lift. The 02-3FGC10, a related model, got the smaller 4P engine.
