You are kind of right. Accelerator pump isnt working, I took the carb apart and dipped it. It is completely blocked and signs of water setting in the bottom. The pump was destroyed when I took it apart this time. It is a Nikki side draft. I havent been able to locate a rebuild for it yet.
And the engine is a UA , evidently the VA uses a side valve cover and the UA doesn't. I did a leak down test again after putting transmission fluid in the holes over night. It failed miserably. So I pulled the head and found carbon heavily built up in the head and on cylinders. Someone drove it a while with this carb loading it up. Intake and exhaust ports were blocked down to the size of a nickle. So I figure ill go a oil pump and rings ,valve job, cylinder walls look good. But I will fail if I cannot find the carb or a rebuild kit. Any ideas where to look?

Fact of the week
In Germany, the 9th of November is sometimes called Schicksalstag, the "Day of Fate" because it has been the day for several major historical events, including the horrors of Kristallnacht in 1938 and the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
