FiascoDave at gmail.com, this truck has an accelerator control potentiometer (kinda of like a volume control on a radio, but the forklift's "radio" only plays 1 note, and really loud) that sits under the pedal, and has a slot to allow a pin to travel as you push the pedal. my bet/w.a.g. is that this pin has, for some reason, come out of the slot, and the "volume control" is no longer moving with the foot (accelerator) pedal.
As someone who likes bluegrass and violin music, I like swoop's saying of; "one of the worst things one can do is 'fiddle' with a lifttruck". ;-)
and he is very correct there. as it worked correctly for an hour or so, I doubt it was actually from the previous tech unless he left something under the floor loose.
Dave, you don't say why the ' violin player' (fiddler) was there in the first place, and that may give us another clue as to what happened, but it is my guess you have a mechanical connection to the accelerator control that is not correct now..
