Is it required to drain the hydraulic sump to change the filter element. The book I have indicates so. It holds 7.5 gallons. Since the hydraulic fluid here cost $119 for 5 gallons and $65 for 2.5 gallons. That's 185.00 in fluid plus filter. Also how often should it be changed? In my case I don't know the last time it was changed.
