well the most common problems for code 42 are listed as excessive usage or stalling the pump/motor.
cooling fans not working or maybe blockage of airflow
and also insufficent amount of thermal grease between controller and heatsink panel.

you may also want to consider that if you are using any type of attachment like a rotator or bale clamp or something like this.
attachments are notorious for heating up hydraulic systems because of the heavy load they create on the system.

all of these codes could be caused by that one single problem due to heat.
