Komatsu had released a technical bulletin 8/4/2006 reguarding -16 trucks drive shaft u-joint bolts. (bulletin# TB2006-007FC) The bulletin required inspection of all 8 drive shaft u-joint mounting bolts. All bolts needed to be torqued to 29 ft-lbs (348 in-lbs). I have a large rental fleet and found most if not all were not properly torqued from the factory. If you would like a copy of this bulletin contact me at 509-577-0500 ask for Paul Martin in service dept. As far as the trans problems with the -14's I have never lost one yet..
