I feel your pain jdmsrc, frustrating doesn't even begin to explain being in your position. I was in your shoes twice last month with computer issues that only the dealer had access to. My only word of advice is get everything in writing. They now have your unit, which in the USA, means they can keep until your bill is paid, whether you like your bill or not. You are also trapped into this dealer with any other dealer only issues that may arrise in the future.
As far as the card- I'm not familiar with your exact unit, but I can tell you the 2 dealers I had my experience with didn't like/nor use rebuilt cards of any kind, according to the techs that came out. They were instructed to install new cards only (unless one wasn't available).
