What is it about these engines? First of all, every one that I ever ever seen smells like it smokes even when it doesn't.
Secondly and most importantly, I bought a truck with a 4G63 engine in it with about 4000 hours on it. When the engine idled for about 10 minutes it would start smoking. I returned the truck to my vendor.
I recently bought another truck with the same engine that has about 4400 hours on it. The same thing happens. It only smokes once the truck idles for a while. If it were leaky valve seals it should smoke when it sits overnight and clear up once it warms up.
Any advice?
