This will be a GM3.0L piece of s**t engine.
Has the starter got a support bracket fitted to the rear?
The starter motor mountings on these are such a poor design and always give problems. We have had a few break the corner of the block when they have worked loose. Its not just the 4 cyl engine that has this problem, its the 6 and 8 also.
