You do not state what capacity the unit is or if it's a 3 or 4 wheel unit or the condtion of the unit or specs mast lift height ,etc. So I will assume it is a 5k , 4 wheel unit with10-12000 hours on it w/ a dead or near dead battery 3 stage mast, side shift, forks. Based on my experience in sell equipment like this to the wholesale market it has little "real" value as a trade. What I mean by that is quite often a a dealer will give you a trade-in value of say $800 but will inflate the price of the unit you are going to buy by teh same amount - net value "0". When business was good I had a fleet of 5 year old , high hour units (5k, triple & sideshift w/batteries I had to sell wholesale the best price I could get was $800/unit fob east coast. The average price around the US was between $1500 - 1800.

You could try selling it on Craigs list - no cost take a few pics to show & tell the unit. Or if you just want to get it out of the way drain the fluids, etc & haul it off to the scrap yard - check with the yards some will take industrial batteries & some won't..

The charger if it is functional will go for $150 to 200. Call around to battery distributors in your area. You'll need to know the amp/hr rating of the charger & if it is single or 3 phase and brand.
