I would like to know how other companies handle quoting prices on selling and pressing on solid pneumatic tires. As anyone knows who has installed them, sometimes they are easy and other times they take forever, especially if you don't have a full time tire installer.
We recently did some where the rings were rusted and stuck together and the tires were stuck to the rim so that when you press the tire down, the inside of the tire would push itself against the rings. We ended up explaining the problem to the customer and charging extra labor.
So- All customers get at least 2 quotes on tires and if they go with you because of a lower price and you end up having to charge them more, then what. And if you tell them up front that the price should be "X" if everything goes right but if it doesn't you will have to charge them extra, they probably won't order them from you because they don't like the unknown.
Or-are we doing something wrong and all solid pneumatics should be easy to press?
