Just connected and tried the "Bad" Logic card in the ECG20 that I borrowed the good one from. And everything works! No codes, no issues.

So while the feature disabling question would still be interesting to learn about, I'm back to square one with the original fault code on the ECG32, a -27, which I suppose should be a different and separate post.
