If your ECM has the same p/n then you can change them. You should install the suspected ECM into the good lift and see if the problem follows the ECM. You wouldn't want to possibly do any damage to the good ECM. Also check that purple wire over very carefully because sometimes the wire is broken in the connector but is still being held firmly in the body of the connector.
