Hopefully you guys can steer me in the right direction as i have run out of ideas. i have a 1990 hyster sideshift +1070 forks model 2.5xl serial no. B187V02299L (S/O 130785) with a Mazda VA LPG engine. Its always been a pig to start as it may get used once or twice a week but it finally wouldnt start and i ended up wrecking the starter motor. fitted a replacement and it wouldnt go. took the rocker cover off and discovered a load of sludge and realised the head gasket had gone, done a compression test to confirm. got the head off, had it skimmed and fitted a new head gasket, still no start. got a impco model j kit and replaced all the gubbings inside. replaced the coupling to the gas tank, new coil ,spark plugs, distributer overhauled with new bearings, rotor arm and cap. did run for a couple of seconds and stopped. got a reair kit for the ca50 carb and still wont run. the only success i have had is when i disconnected the gas and empted the hose of all gas, reconnected the gas and it started first time and ran well [wouldnt idle] for ten minutes, switched off and tried to restart about half an hour later, cranked over but wouldnt start. any pointers would be appreciated

Fact of the week
In May 2023, a Belgian Malinois named Wilson played a key role in the rescue of four children lost in the Amazon jungle. The young children were missing for 40 days after a plane crash that killed their mother and other adults. Wilson tracked the children's footprints, leading the military to their location.
