your welcome, glad i could help
i know how it is dealing with genie tech service, they always use the standard check sheet and have you go through most everything you've already checked.
Anyhow, if you removed that tilt sensor and got the orientation out 90 deg then yes it would have an effect on how the sensor performs. Also the wiring, as long as you wired it back correctly which is hard to mess up being the wires are color coded, it should be operating normally. Hook any of them up wrong it just wouldn't work.
It sounds as if you may have mounted it back in the wrong orientation.
Plus i need to clarify something on the sensor parameters, the degree range varies depending on when the machine was made and if it is outrigger or not.
On serial numbers before 41754 the tilt sensor range is less than what i had stated previously, the ranges are totally different 2 deg to the side, 3 deg to the front and 5 deg to the rear. On models after serial number 41735 it only has limits 2 deg to the side and 3 deg to front or rear.
the X and Y axis needs to be set properly in order for it to operate correctly.
In every case in the diagrams i've seen from the service book (which you can get from genie's website) it shows the X axis points towards the steer end and the Y axis being the side to side sensing. There should be a marking on the sensor telling you the X and Y axis configuration.
Once you get it mounted in the right orientation then setting the level should be easy.
