Simply put, supply chain is about so much more than just saving costs because there are so many more resources to be saved than just money. In the supply chain money can certainly go to waste, but so can time, worker energy and even supplies. For instance, by implementing lean manufacturing practices into the supply chain process, a business could cut on extra time and energy and deliver products on time, eliminating overproduction.
