With more lithium ion batteries coming into the forklift industry, conventional suppression techniques may put the user at greater risk. CO2 is ineffective and puts the user at risk, Water extinguishers, especially with proper additives, can be most effective on non energized applications. ABC dry powder provides a degree of suppression. Best practice may be to rely on first responders. Watch this example of no training and dangerous response. LithSafe offers assistance:
